Food Pantry Sunday
First Sunday of the Month
We collect goods for the food pantry at a sister congregation, Hope UCC in Wind Gap. Currently, there is a need for juices, canned fruit, beef stew, canned meat, soups, ramen noodles, canned vegetables, spaghetti, beefaroni, ravioli, Jell-o, and cookies. Hunger knows no season so let's help out in any way we can!
Easter Egg Hunt
March 17th at 2pm at 120 Cesare Drive in Pen Argyl
Our second annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held at "The Land" which is located next to Bangor Auto Body. This event is open to the community. There will be plenty of eggs and prizes for the kids. So, plan on joining us ... and bring a friend!
Upcoming Worship Opportunities
St. Patrick's Day - Sunday, March 17th
Celebrate the faith that has been passed down through generations. Sing hymns dating back to the 6th century. Recite prayers written in the 4th century. Wear something green. Participate in the ancient and sacred and holy...and let the day have new meaning for you.
Maundy Thursday - Thursday, March 28th
This celebration kicks off with a Simple Soup Supper at 6pm. Attendance at the meal is optional. But we do provide a variety of soups, crackers, and dessert. Afterwards, at 7pm, we move to the sanctuary for a dramatic re-enactment of
the first Lord's Supper. This is a deeply moving experience whose highlight involves 12 people at a time being ushered to a circle of chairs to receive communion.
Passion/Palm Sunday - March 24, commemorates Jesus' triumphal entry in Jerusalm where people celebrate by waving palm branches. Therefore, palm branches are distributed to worshippers.
Easter Sunday - March 31, celebrates the resurrection of Jesus three days after his death on Good Friday.
Upcoming Hospitality Lunches
On the last Saturday of each month, our congregation hosts a hospitality lunch for the community. This is a nutritous meal served free of change to anyone from the Slate Belt. Meals are served from 11:30am to 1:30pm in the social hall, which can be accessed from Heller Ave. For a list of upcoming meals & menus, please click here.
Relay for Life
May 18 & 19 - Our "Walk With Faith" team will once again participate in the Slate Belt Relay for Life at Bangor Memorial Park. A team meeting will be schedulded shortly. If you would like to participate with us, please call the church office at 610-863-4447. Everyone is welcome!
